The Teen Challenge experience will be embedded in my heart forever. I remember that day in the Rockies, we were running behind schedule a bit for our next meeting. The storm was getting worse but we were determined. One thing we always had in the forefront was to get to our destination in order to minister to the folks where we were scheduled to be.

Suddenly I could feel the bus sliding as I was talking with Brent and he slammed into me. I knew we were going to flip. There was no cussing or yelling. It was strange. We all remained calm. In fact, I remember that so clearly because one of the guys kept yelling “Don't panic, don't panic!"

Then another of the guys said "No one’s panicking! In fact, you’re the only one who's doing all the panicking"

There was a chuckle that came from a few of us. The humor behind it was a bit strange being that we were upside down, in a winter storm, in the middle of nowhere. Our faith was very strong then and I must admit that there are times when I cry out to God for that touch and He has a way of reminding me of the joy of my salvation and it puts me right back in check.

I could tell you about my past, the thug I once was, the addiction, armed robberies or prison, but all I want to do is tell who who I am in Him today. I am free and filled because of Jesus Christ. My past does not determine my future. I am continuing my ministry here in Upstate New York, I love to sing and share the Good News of the God who saved me.
