We landed safely in Liberia. It was quite a miracle. Initially officials in Kenya refused to allow us to board the plane because our paperwork was not in order. To board we had to sign a waiver making us liable for a $10,000 fine & costs to return us to Kenya when we were refused entrance in Liberia. We knew we had done our due diligence so we prayed. The Lord said, "Go in faith," so we signed the waiver and boarded the plane. Long story but God got us into Liberia, a closed country with no VISA. What a miracle! Hallelujah!
Pray ... we are still here without VISA's ... the government has seized our passports abd we are praying for a breakthrough today. |

We had a tremendous time with the TC team in Liberia and were so blessed to visit the new Center as well as minister to the students. I really sensed the presence of God as we visited, but were so disappointed to see that students there did not even have a bible. We were able to find a Liberian Bible Society to purchase bibles for the students and Samaritan's Purse provided resources for altar ministry on the street. |

A quick view of ministry on the street in "Red Light." This video clip takes you with us on a typical night of ministry for Teen Challenge in Liberia. |

LIBERIA TEEN CHALLENGE
Battling unbelievable resistance Liberia Teen Challenge launched a men's program in 2010. From their office being burned down in 2010 to the center robbed of all contents including chairs and flatware in 2011, they have not flagged in zeal. They face tremendous challenges but are up to the task and God is able.

LIBERIA
These these children (left) were abandoned sitting in the sun outside the bar– their parents (right) were were on a 2 day binge, in the bar room "partying," but life is no party for their kids.
Who will reach them before it is too late? |

The first settlers left America 1816 on a Navy ship supported by grants from the U.S. Treasury filled with freed slaves to spearhead black resettlement of Africa's west coast. They came with a pledge of Hope, promise and freedom. The nation was created in a missionary move of freed American slaves. There is a profound Christian Heritage and deep historical connection with the United States. |
|
Almost a Century later that dream was shattered as the nation plagued by corruption plunged into conflict, a war described by some as civil war on Steroids. A two decade nightmare of child soldiers fueled by cannibalism, tribal hatred, violence, and drugs tore the nation apart. Now, as the armed conflict has ended, the real spiritual warfare to bring the gospel has begun. |

A busy week, filled with ministry and meetings, is in full swing here in Monrovia. We have been blessed to meet with pastors, the Governor of the state of Montserrado, Honorable Grace-TeePan, Samaritan's Purse, US-AID, DEA, UNDOC, CAM ... sometimes I don't know if I am in the ministry or eating alphabet soup. We surely need PTL & TLC less OMG and more J-E-S-U-S. |

Despite Cathy's continued insistance that they not name the Liberia Teen Challenge Center in her honor, imagine our surprise when we saw the sign (left) at the Center.
Cathy ministered in women's meetings and I love this picture of Cathy "gettin down" with the ladies at Mother Ver-O-nika's church in SInkor as she dances with the women and prepares to minister the word.
