~ ~ Dodoma Tanzania ~ ~

Barafu grounds, Swahili for field of ice, became a field of fire, as Holy Ghost power fell on the people of the Dodoma Tanzania under the ministry of Johannes Amritzer and Mission SOS. In the capital city, Barafu grounds is designated as a free-speech zone. It was more than a free speech zone, because, taking the words we shared, GOD made it "free life" zone. Julie Willkander and the SOS team ministered powerfully in music

This cluttered plot, littered with abandoned trucks and broken people, surrounded by huge semi trucks and poverty, was transformed into an arena of miracles. By the final night, 50,000had gathered to hear the good news of the gospel. In the dust, surrounded by despair and overwhelming need, Masai and Muslim, Hindu and Hutu, animist, agnostic and curious atheist came to listen and found faith as they confessed Jesus Christ as Lord of their life.

LOOK AT THE FESTIVAL
~ ~ On the Street~ ~

One of the most exciting things is not just the evening festivals where tens of thousands gathered, but each day, this missions srike force from 4 continents, Europe, Australia, United States, and Latin America broke into 4 outreach teams, each doing 2 street additional street meetings each day- inviting people to the festival, sharing God's love and ministering Jesus. We counted the cards, 1,340 came to faith in these meetings.

“Don’t be afraid,
for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Eight years ago today, on July 23, 2007, my cell phone rang in Gloucester. It was Bernie who called with the horrifying news that he was in the intensive care unit, hospitalized in New York City. He said, "I love you, "as she shared that the doctor had just told him that he would not survive the night. His extensive traveling schedule had caused blood clots to form, moving from his leg to his lungs and six “giant” pulmonary embolisms threatened to take his life. BUT GOD !

When I received the news, there was a moment of fear, which was quickly replaced by anger that the enemy was going to try to take Bernie out, followed by a fierce determination that God would have the last word.

Bern's pulse ox was under 60, he was on pure oxygen and still unable to get his breath. Over 60% of the tissue in his lungs was damaged. Even though the doctor's prognosis was, "No hope," we prayed. God gave us a promise from Psalm 118:17. Despite the fact that they  told Bernie that he would die, God said, “You will not die, you will live, and declare my glory to the nations."

The most critical clinical finding was that Bernie's right side systolic pressure (It should have been 30) was tremendously elevated. A right side systolic of 50 is critical. Sixty is fatal, At that pressure cardiac tissue fails and the heart explodes. Bernie’s right side systolic pressure was not 65 or 70, it was 86, 26 points past fatal but God, in His faithfulness, raised him up out of that hospital bed. I am still SO GRATEFUL for all of you that joined us in prayer as we watched God do the MIRACLE!

When he left the hospital, on oxygen, in a wheelchair, the doctors reminded us that we would now face a total lifestyle change. Because of the damages to his lungs and heart he would never be able to travel extensively or fly in an airplane again.

The doctor reminded us, “If he boards a plane, when the aircraft reaches altitude, his heart will burst. Not only that, he reminded us that we really did not have much time. In 80% of the cases, life expectancy following a right side systolic pressure over 60 is less than three years. But God.

We went home believing God. Within six weeks diagnostic tests began to confirm that God was doing a miracle and on September 6, 2007 Bernie flew to Cuba on his first mission trip after the embolisms. Our God is AWESOME!

I am not sure what report you have been given, not sure what you have been told, not sure what THEY said.

To be honest, I'm not sure what you're facing today, but I DO know that you do not have to face it alone. Right now Bernie is in Africa and the team he is working with has seen over 20,000 decisions for Christ this week. We travel almost 100,000 miles together each year. God is still not done with us.

God is faithful and His promise is true. “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Not just 8 years ago, but over and over and over, God has been so LOVING-and so FAITHFUL!  And we are so GRATEFUL! Whose report will you believe? We will believe the report of the Lord. To God be the glory, great things He has done!

~ ~ LAST NIGHT ~ ~

God moved powerfully in Dodoma. We had over 50,000 on the last night! Men and women were being baptized in water on the field by local pastors in the afternoon. That night, over 5,000 were baptized in the spirit, When all they began to speak their prayer language, a wave of power exploded across the field and people began to be healed ...

More than 20,000 have completed decision cards. Thousands of Muslims confessed Christ on Eid. While EID marks the end of Ramadan for Islam, for them it was a beginning for faith and new LIFE!

If you have 3 minutes, please click the link for a video I prepared with Elias Knudon and the SOS team. Come with us to see the miracles. http://youtu.be/5K7KIQIU9eE

Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe even if I told you. Habakkuk 1:5

JULY

1) TANZANIA- Dodoma

Please pray for lasting fruit from the festival and street ministry in, Tanzania with Johannes Amritzer and the SOS Missions Team. Brother Johannes, Brother Fiori, and crusade director Peter are projected over 20,000 each day the capital of Tanzania near the University.
God consistently outperformed our expectations. On the final night over 50,000 were in attendance and as thousands were filled with the Holy Spirit, when they began to pray in their own prayer language, a wave of the power of God went forward feeling so many. Dodoma is a city of over a half million and houses one of the largest universities in East Africa. This was a unique opportunity to engage Tanzania's intellectual and spiritual elite as well as street people with the good news.

2) TANZANIA- Singida

We have traveled 6 hours to Singida. I am honored to join Pastor Jeff Leake from Allison Park, PA, at the invitation if General Superintendent, Rev Barnabas Mtokambail to minister to the hundreds of pastors at the Singida District Conference of the Tanzania Assemblies of God. Missionary fellowship leader, Rev. Jeff Garrett has done a tremendous job of organizing all of our logistics for this trip. Please keep him, is incredible wife Wendy and their family in your prayers as they continue their commitment to the nation of Tanzania.

Singida is located below the equator in the center of the country and has a population in excess of 1.09 million people. Singida is one of the poorest regions in Tanzania, 1 of 4 districts in the region with the town of Singida being located in the Singida Urban district. There are 346 villages in the region and 10 indigenous tribes. They have been experiencing significant drought in one out of four years, may the rain of God's love fall.

3) TANZANIA- Dar Es Salaam

I will conclude the Tanzania portion of the Mission returning to Dar es Salaam for street meetings and church services with Pastor Ron Swai. Please pray for God's comfort for his family as we learn after a long bout with illness his mother in law has gone home to be with the Lord.

4) Rwanda/ Burundi- Dar Es Salaam

Please pray for the final preparations for our upcoming mission to Rwanda & Burundi in August. The Teen Challenge center was recently served with notice that despite the fact they had been paying their rent, the landlord has not been paying the mortgage so the bank i s foreclosing on his loan. Pray the Lord give us favor as they sort either purchasing this location or moving to a new home.

We are truly excited to be traveling to Rwanda with Oklahoma City Teen Challenge directors and global pioneers Shawn & Shannon Blankenship and their team again.

Also, please pray for the outreach, the work on the streets, and the ministry as they look toward planting the first Team Challenge Burundi center in the 2016

5) THE HARVEST

Let's pray for the global advance of the gospel. Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 106 countries need staff and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in 32 nations. They are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT. We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet the need. MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
