GTC STARMAN
~ ~ Puerto Rico ~ ~
It has been a busy June.
We had a tremendous time of ministry with our dear friends in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Teen Challenge,
TC East Coast Convention,
& our 8th grandchild, Jonathan,
was born.
Please take a few minutes and come with us for 3 minute overview of the Spiritual Emphasis and Baptism. A big shout out to Rudy, who prepared a 22 minute video of the Spiritual Emphasis available on YOU TUBE. What a blessing to join Dr Rodney Hart, Angel "Big Smile" Roque and the family in Puerto Rico. On an island with escalating addiction-and ever increasing debt, there is desperate need for a powerful move of God in Puerto Rico. With centers in Buena Vista, Bayamon, Arecibo, and the women's home Caguas, in the face of financial challenges and tremendous human need, Dr. Hart and the team are reaching out with transforming good news of God's love.

Jonathan Michael
born: June 21, 2015
6 lbs 15oz, 20 inches

When is my Pop Pop coming home from his MISSION trip to see me?

Jonathan was born following a battle with Preeclampsia, (toxemia). We are so grateful for all of your prayers for our daughter. Jonathan was due in July, but they had to hospitalize Rebecca and induce labor because of danger to her and the baby. Thank you to all that prayed with us, Cathy left Puerto Rico early to be with her and Michael. Mother and baby are now home doing well after a brief 8 day hospital stay. I was able to visit on the way to Africa and he is AMAZING !

FIREWORKS

Behold, the LORD was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire;
I Kings 19:11

Bern

In the weeks leading up to Independence Day, I love watching the fireworks stands showing up in a parking lots around Virginia. It reminds me of the many wonderful fireworks displays that I've attended with my family & Teen Challenge students. There's something amazing about the sounds, light and magic of those brilliant colors exploding against the dark sky.

Elijah had seen the fireworks. He challenged the prophets of Baa. He knew the terror of running for his life and the questions about his future. The fireworks were over and now he stood waiting on God on the mountain. He saw the earthquake, the winds and the fire, but God was not coming in the fireworks this time, He came in a still small voice.

That's the a problem with fireworks. For all of their sound and fury, they don't last. The same is true of many of the "fireworks" experiences in our lives. We fight and struggle for the brilliant flashes, the things that seem beautiful and alluring, but after we get them, their appeal disappears, just like fireworks. Maybe it's a shiny new car or dream vacation. Maybe it's a big, impressive house. It might even be a promotion at work, new guitar, a prestigious career or compelling ministry goal.

So many of the things of this world are like fireworks. They promise happiness and fulfillment, but can't deliver. TV commercials play on self, making us believe that if we drive a certain kind of car or clean our floors with their super-efficient mop, have that perfect shampoo or toothpaste we'll be happy at last. More often than not, all we feel is disillusioned.

If you've had enough of the "fireworks" experiences and the letdowns that follow, I challenge you to pursue the only thing in life that doesn't disappoint: a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The astounding thing about loving God is that it actually gets better. Once we surrender to Jesus, the Father offers a RELATIONSHIP and the fulfillment that carries us through the dark nights and lasts into eternity. When I realize that earthly goals are not the end and truly wait on him I can never be satisfied with "fireworks" experiences again.

Thank you so much to all of the folks of CROSSWALK.
What a blessing to join all 3 "Williamsburg" campuses through the rain, electric outages and storms. What a treasure to join all of you for power-packed services, sing, see your hunger for Jesus and celebrate the miracle of His love.

We appreciate you generous partnership in our ministry. Thank you to the worship and tech teams, Pastor Mark Morrow, Pastor Hines, Adam, and Pastor Michael and my driver, Joseph. What a wonderful weekend of ministry.

~ ~ "Lost" in the Lagoon ~ ~
To see drug houses and communities that God has rescued these men and women from creates tremendous context for the miracle of their changed lives. Behind one of the drug houses we visited, they showed Cathy and I the "Lagoon of death." No one wants police or officials poking around, so if someone overdoses or altercation results in death, bodies are taken to this lagoon thrown into the stagnant water where the fish and alligators take care of destroying the evidence
Even if they survive the desparation, diseaseand death in the drug house, their addiction, the rejection of family, crime and wearing consequences of their bondage, without the power of Jesus Christ, there is no hope. For some, the lagoon death appears to be a quick solution, a quiet end to their their suffering. Teen Challenge Puerto Rico offers real hope for LIFE not death

Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe even if I told you. Habakkuk 1:5

PRAYER

FOCUS

for

JULY

1) TANZANIA- Dodoma

Please pray for our upcoming ministry in Dodoma, Tanzania with Johannes Amritzer and the SOS Missions Team. Brother Johannes, Brother Fiori, and crusade director Peter are expecting over 30,000 each day for a large outdoor festival in the capital of Tanzania near the University. Dodoma is a city of over a half million and houses one of the largest universities in East Africa. This is a unique opportunity because there is a critical need to engage Tanzania's intellectual and spiritual elite as well as street people with the good news.

The schedule this week will include
~~ 7 AM devotions, breakfast 9:30 AM departure from Summit
~~ 10 AM Street outreaches in locations surrounding the FARFU Festival grounds.
~~ We will be doing two outreaches.
~~ Departing for the festival at 3 o’clock.

2) TANZANIA- Singida

Following the Festival, we will travel 6 hours to Singida. I am honored to join Pastor Jeff Leake from Allison Park, PA, as the invitation if the General Superintendent, Rev Barnabas Mtokambail to minister to the hundreds of pastors at the Singida District Conference of the Tanzania Assemblies of God. Missionary fellowship leader, Rev. Jeff Garrett has done a tremendous job of organizing all of our logistics for this trip. Please keep him, is incredible wife Wendy and their family in your prayers as they continue their commitment to the nation of Tanzania.

Singida is located below the equator in the center of the country and has a population in excess of 1.09 million people. Singida is one of the poorest regions in Tanzania, 1 of 4 districts in the region with the town of Singida being located in the Singida Urban district. There are 346 villages in the region and 10 indigenous tribes. They have been experiencing significant drought in one out of four years, may the rain of God's love fall.

3) TANZANIA- Dar Es Salaam

Will conclude the Tanzania portion of the Mission returning to Dar es Salaam for street meetings and church services with Pastor Ron Swai.

4) FINANCES

As I shared, the theft of my i Phone 6 and the cost of many flights that had to be rebooked in Africa and for our US return put a real hit on our finances at a time when summertime giving has dipped a bit. Please prayerfully consider a gift this month to help us as I head for Tanzania, on to Staff meeting in Orlando and then to Rwanda in August. Please pray for Cathy as she is battling with various airlines trying to get reimbursement, I know the Lord will take care of these unexpected expenses. May God bless you as you partner with us.

7) REBECCA, MICHAEL, JONATHAN

Please pray for our lovely daughter, Rebecca and her husband Michael as they continue to care for Jonathan Michael, experience the joy of first- time parenting and enjoy our amazing grandson l

8) THE HARVEST

Let's pray for the global advance of the gospel. Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 106 countries need staff and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in 32 nations. They are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT.
We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet the need.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.
