GTC STARMAN
Bern and Cathy Ah yes, 2012 ... seems like only days ago. Now the Kielbasa is gone, the cabbage is finished ... we are on to 2013. Many are calling 2013 the year of hope, the year of promise. In my spirit I hear the Holy Spirit warning my heart that 2013 will be a year of Warfare. We need to fill our lamps with oil and be prepared. I am not suggesting we be afraid, but I do believe we need to prepare ... to see victory.

prayer Summit
A FRESH CALL TO PRAYER
Man PrayingDr Nance is inviting TC leaders across the United States and around the world to the second annual Prayer Summit,
Feb 9- 11,
in Seale, AL
e votion

So teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom Psalm 90:12 NAS

If you had a bank that credited your account each morning with $86,400, no balance carried over day to day, what would you do? Well, you do have such a bank...time. Every morning God credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night whatever you have failed to use is lost.

Bern
Our account carries over no balances and allows no overdrafts. You can't hoard it, save it, store it, or loan it. Time ...invest it wisely or squander it on foolishness. You use it or lose it. There is no such thing as "time management," only task management.

Rev Don Wilkerson will be the keynote speaker on February 9, and will kick off two days of 24 hour prayer, worship and intercession. We want to invite you to continue afterwards and participate in 19 days of intercession with specific focuses and prayers of proclamation for each of those 19 days. Find out more. Be a part.

It all began Feb. 9, 1958, when God placed a burden on the heart of David Wilkerson to focus on prayer and spend less time watching TV. He put an advertisement in the newspaper to sell his TV. He prayed, "Lord, if it sells in the first 30 minutes after the newspapers hit homes, I will know that it is you." Before 30 minutes had passed David Wilkerson received a call and his TV was sold. This began 19 days of prayer that led to the birth of Teen Challenge.

We spend time making resolutions for the new year. It is important that we understand that "new year" is a man-made measurement. God does not measure in years, minutes or months. Without a calendar you cannot tell when the year changes. Different calendars start the year at different times, but every day God opens the bank of blessing, His mercies are new every morning. When the sun comes up it is God's reminder that the bank is open. Resolutions are not achieved in year-long commitments, but in day-tight compartments filled with the grace of God.

I saw a poster that said, "Tomorrow is God's promise of a second chance." That is bad theology, tomorrow is not promised to us. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is God's gift, that's why we call it the present. Open the gift wisely.

In 2013, may what I am living for be worthy of what Jesus died for. By your grace Lord, help me to. . . focus on what matters and live for what lasts!

PRAYER

FOCUS

1) Pray for Dr. Wever and I as we prepare to leave for Nigeria. Logistics, tickets and visas as well as safety as we travel. We will be at the Assembly of God General Counsil in Enugu, Nigeria as well as the dedication of the new TC center in Jos.

  • NIGERIA: Eye witness accounts reported that worshipers in ECWA Church, Piri, were in prayer in the Church at 2AM Christmas Eve when unknown gun men of the Boko Haram sect stormed the church killing five of them and setting the church ablaze. DETAILS

2) Pray for the preparations and logistics of the Global Prayer Summit at Lakeside Retreat and Conference Center in Seale, Alabama.

3) Please pray for the mother of Anne Martin who is returning from Kenya to be with her and minister. We are believing God for a miracle. John and Anne Martin are the pioneers and founders of Teen Challenge, Kenya in Nairobi.

4) Pray for the persecuted church as so many Christians continue to make such sacrifices and lose their lives in attacks by radical elements from Pakistan to Egypt to Nigeria.

5) Pray for Teen Challenge Siberia :

Their court case has resumed with 5 hearings. Two hearings were filled with testimony by Teen Challenge students and workers who shared how God set them free from heroin and restored their lives and families. It was amazing to hear such incredible testimonies of God's transforming power before the prosecutor, judge and attorneys in a Russian Courtroom . . . click for more. They also have a delightful year end video, click for video stream.

6) Let's pray for the global advance of the gospel. Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 94 countries need staff and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in over 30 nations. They are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT.
We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet the need.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
