E-ntercession Update
I am here in Minnesota this week. A special week of ministry as we partner with leaders for the launch of Teen Challenge in Monrovia, Liberia. It is a very busy week of ministry and strategic time for Liberia TC so we appreciate your prayers. I am looking forward to ministry at Minnesota Teen Challenge with Charles Obieze and an aggressive regimen of outreach, meetings, and the Liberia Teen Challenge FGBMFI Banquet. After a busy week in Minnesota, I will join my son, Chris to minister outside Chicago at the Naperville A/G where he pastors, NXT J-Hi, for DELTA CHI (Discipleship Camp).
I look forward to ministering at the LIBERIA TEEN CHALLENGE BANQUET with Father Roger Sonneson and
the FULL GOSPEL BUSINESSMEN FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL at "GRUMPY's" on Friday. SEE YOU THERE!

Minniesota Teen Challenge

Minnesota Teen Challenge is a powerful contributor to the TC family. Not only does Rich provide visionary leadership as they provide outstanding care, Lynette has pioneered a PSA ministry that has placed Teen Challenge ON THE AIR at the cutting edge around the world. You may hear the commercial on K-Love. I have heard these radio spots as I travel around the world.
Scherbers
Minnesota Teen Challenge is one of the largest Teen Challenge centers in the world with over 400 residents and eight residential buildings. We had a tremendous service with the students. I cannot commend Minnesota Teen Challenge enough for the work they are doing, both here in Minnesota, around the world with PSAs and internationally as they are planting a new Teen Challenge Center in Haiti and supporting the Liberia work with a monthly pledge. THE TRICKY THING ABOUT IDOLS (continued)
I mentioned that I tell people,"Do not come to the altar just for a miracle! Come for a relationship." The truth is, when you have the relationship, the miracle takes care of itself. While I was a amazed by the response to that statement, it did not surprise me in this age, when i-phones breed "i-faith," and" my space" become "my faith," and what "I feel" becomes more important than what God says.

Some felt I was insensitive to the needs of people struggling with their flesh and that I showed a lack of understanding of God's love. This response disappoints me. It reveals the real issue here. The kindness of God has been cheapened by post-Christian, new-millennium phony faith. It makes God the servant of men, rather than man the servant of God. I do not say that to be cruel, but in all honesty, the book of Hebrews clearly communicates that our God is a consuming fire. We have missed the message of the Apostle Paul in the book of Romans.

Romans 2:4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

Verses five and six continue on to clarify this even further and deal a death blow to the "greasy grace" theology of "cut-rate faith.

Rom 2:5 & 6 -But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who will render to each person according to his deeds.

So you may ask, "What is the tricky thing about idols?" It starts with the realization that an idol is a God created by a man to meet an individual need. Idols have been created by cultures and societies for millennia. The Roman Pantheon of gods addressed all the of needs of the human experience. Native Americans built a totem pole. With strength important in their culture, it included the bear ... sharp eyes meant they needed an eagle, cunning meant they needed the head of a wolf, all the way up the totem.

Is it possible that in 2010 America, we are crafting a Christianity that addresses only the needs of health, wealth, and security? Has it become an easy idol that copies the venerated strengths of our culture or the legitimate expression of the one true God? The truth is, that man is made in God's image. It is the height of human arrogance to try to create God in our image.

This brings us to the tricky thing about idols. They can never truly meet supernatural needs. They are a comfort as means to manage circumstances, but when it comes to real supernatural power, that takes God.

The classic confrontation between Elisha and the prophets of Baal expresses that clearly. First Elisha challenged Israel to believe; then he challenged the prophets of Baal to call down fire. As you consider the next passage, I know you might think Elijah needs to hone his "people skills," but I want us to focus first on verse 29.

1 Kings 18:27-29 (NASB) 27 It came about at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said, “Call out with a loud voice, for he is a god; either he is occupied or gone aside, or is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and needs to be awakened.”  28 So they cried with a loud voice and cut themselves according to their custom with swords and lances until the blood gushed out on them.  29 When midday was past, they raved until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice; but there was no voice, no one answered, and no one paid attention.

Unfortunately what I often see today, is a brand of Christianity that models the religion of the prophets of Baal and gets the same results. (1) no voice (2) No answer (3) no one pays attention. Consider the impact of the church in our post-Christian society. Is the church offering the central voice to our culture in the arts, education and leadership? Are we the guardian of answers or a relevant reflection of truth and guidance?. Is anyone paying attention to us or are they just laughing?

Rock the BLock Monument
Following powerful ministry in the Dominican Republic in 2008, with continuing growth at the men’s home in Santiago and the addition of the women’s facility, Pastor Jimmy Jack and the Rock the Block ministry have been invited to return to the monument for 3 days of power-packed music and ministry. Please pray for Rock the Block.

Bern,|
For a long time I have been suffering with constant ear ache in my right ear and quite recently I have been hit with vertigo. So I decided to see a specialist regarding this problem and it turns out that I have vascular dysfunction which is affecting my brain. The doctor is very concerned and has taken a special interest in my case. She thinks that the main arteries at the rear of the neck, that are connected to the rear part of the brain are damaged as this is causing a lot of weakness and dizziness, as well as making me feel depressed, tired and forgetful at times. On Monday I have to go to hospital and have 5 hours of tests.
2) This next week is a strategic time for the launch of the Teen Challenge in Liberia. Pray the Lord gives us favor during services and our friend-raising-fundraising banquet. Pray the Lord touches the hearts of students at Teen Challenge Minnesota Teen Challenge. Preay that the Lord will raise up workers

They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT. We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet the need.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
