SWAZILAND TEEN CHALLENGE
SOUTHERN TIER LEADERSHIP TRAINING |
 |
September 20 to 27 nearly 200 participants from 8 African Nations came together for inspiring worship, cutting edge training and dynamic Fellowship at the Emafini Conference Center outside Mbabane Swaziland. We re disappointed that Visa problems prevented Apostle Syd Weah from Liberia and Selamawit Debosse from Ethiopia from joining us for the training. Leaders from Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Eden SA participated. I will fly to Liberia and Ghana in November to meet with Apostle Syd and the steering committee as part of the FGBMFI Airlift to Liberia and then on to Monrovia, Ghana. |

The LTI team, headed by Africa Coordinator Rev. Mike Zello ministered to leaders from across Africa. A highlight of the LTI was a sharing a vision. and a special international luncheon to cast vision for the continent. |

A unique aspect of this training was the participation of so many from other Swazi Ministries who benefited tremendously from the training we offers. From Luke Commission, who provided medical care to over 250,000 people in 2009 to Samaritan's Purse and Bulembu Ministries |
|
A center piece of the Training was strategic planning sessions facilitated by GTC specialist Rick Souza for the combined ministry outreaches of Swaziland. The meetings were so successful that Executive Director Kevin Ward has invited him to return in November and December to continue the planning.

Teen Challenge Western Cape UPDATE
I am excited to report to you that our
meeting with Social Development was a great success. There is a total turnaround
in the whole process of registration now. The South Africa National Department of
Social Development in cooperation with the Province has requested Teen
Challenge to assist them to formulate policy and legislation to utilize
throughout the country.

The minimum norms and standards document for the South African government is not effective to evaluate our Center. During our meeting I
had opportunity to address the issue of spiritual care in our particular
model. They specifically requested me to make
recommendations to them to be tabled in parliament. The Teen Challenge Policy
documents were highly praised. The good news is, we have been nominated to pilot the norms and standards
with the liberty to make recommendations to South African National Office.
This process
will take us to registration for accreditation. It will be a very time
consuming process though. Our next meetings will be on 08 & 23 October. 30 November, 2009 is my target date to complete the
project.
Well if all goes well and we've followed through, the main objective will
be to utilize Teen Challenge as a Best Practice in the field of substance
abuse treatment for the Nation of South Africa. |
| We are looking forward to seeing our partners from Pennsylvania at with Dan and Donna Clark at Trinity Assembly of God in West Chester on Sunday and then on to a wonderful week of ministry with Jimmy Jack and Bro Wilkerson for SPIRITUAL IMPACT Brooklyn, Long Island and Albany Teen Challenge next week at Camp Champion |
We do have some challenges.
1. We will need a medical professional, preferably a psychiatric nurse

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they reveal character.
Watch your character; it determines your destiny. |
