Cathy and I will never forget the fresh excitement on the glowing faces of Vashti, Nyron, and Sharona as they emerged from their plane at JFK for the 50th Anniversary of Teen Challenge in New York City last year. We cannot wait to see them reunited again on the other side of the gates of glory, this time with Baby Vashti Faith in their arms. Praise God that death is not an end for us as believers but a new beginning of our eternity. I had a wonderful time of ministry in Trinidad and it is good to be home for a few days as I prepare to leave for New York City, South Dakota and then off to the Europe Teen Challenge 40th Anniversary in the Czech Republic. |

On Monday night he cried out to God, "I've lost everything. When can I stop?" Tuesday morning we met him on the street in the fish market in the early morning hours, TC was there, the answer to his prayer. click for video

The dealer told me, It is not just money that I want. The addicts must have big debt.
So big they cannot pay!
So big they must give to me a virgin girl. This is better for me than money. Oh, yes!
When I get money, this money I spend, it is gone, but a virgin girl . . . continued below |

INTERNATIONAL UPDATES |
ITALY:We contacted Italy Teen Challenge following the recent earthquakes. They report no damages and everyone is well. |

Despite the recent death of the Vashti, the wife of the exec. director, Nyron Dinoo, and newborn daughter; their resolve to reach this Island for Jesus has not waned. (click for details-Vashti Homegoing and family photos)
It is wonderful to see the response of the TC family worldwide in this time of need! Jamaica TC sent St Claire, a graduate of the Bible School to serve in Trinidad until April 21st, and Winnipeg TC is sending a graduate and Emerging Leader who will serve in Trinidad from April 19 until July 16.
A special "Thank You" to those who shared gifts and expressions of sympathy. Rev. Duane Henders, Global Teen Challenge Latin American Caribbean Representative attended the funeral. He shares "Nyron preached at the funeral and showed great faith, courage and strength in this very dark time. It was admirable and sent a strong message to all of the strength that God gives His people in life's darkest hours." Despite this powerful word and obvious strength, he and his two year old daughter Sharona still need the comfort that only God can give. Sharona, was so close to her mommy and very excited about the new little sister that was coming home to live with them. Pray for wisdom as she wonders and asks, "Where are mommy and the baby?" There is a comfort that only the Holy Spirit can give in moments like this, a comfort that transcends a loving father's wo
rds or a little girl's human understanding. |

I walked the streets, explored crack houses and bars, talked to pastors, staff, and students at Trinidad Teen Challenge. As they explained the culture, I learned that the core of drug and alcohol abuse here is rooted in a spirit revelry and a culturally imparted "addiction to celebration" in Trinidad. This "party attitude" is manifested year round as Mardi Gras and Carnival become a way of LIFE. Marijuana abuse is ingrained in young people as beer and rum become, not just a habit, but an expression of culture and part of their every day routine!
This gateway has left an open door to ADDICTION!

I spoke to Adrian Alexander of Restorative Justice. He shared some astounding and frightening information which I later heard confirmed in a crack house. In Trinidad, the big dealers entice addicts to run up huge debts but they are no longer paid in money. Human trafficking settles the debt.
Paid off in currency, when the money is spent, it is gone.
On the other hand, a young girl can be "spent" over and over.
If you get a young virgin as debt exchange, her virginity services an expensive client.
As a girl, she serves another clientele.
As a teen, she serves them at the next level.
As a young lady, she becomes a consistent earner.
When there is no market for her as she gets too old or sick,
she can be killed, dissected, and organs sold to the highest bidder.

|
 |
(Above) She is HIV positive, she knows only the pain of rejection and the temporary pleasure offered in the deceptive solace of a crack house.
She needs a miracle.
(Left) He asks me, "Is it possible, can God still reach me? Have I have fallen too far?"
Please pray for the ministry of Teen Challenge Trinidad and Tobago and their tremendous vision for the West Indies. |

Because of your partnership in giving, Cathy and I were able to bring a new 75 key CASIO keyboard with rhythm section and arrangement software; as well as wires, accessories, and a mic to use in the their chapel and outreach. We also were able to provide embroidered Teen Challenge Trinidad Tobago logo golf shirts for the staff and students. Thank you for your partnership. It is your generosity that helps us to meet the practical outreach needs of TC Centers around the world. |

RESURRECTION CELEBRATION |
May I commend a video which I have prepared for GOOD FRIDAY reflection? Every Good Friday for the last 30 years, I have shared this message in some Teen Challenge Center, somewhere in the world. Consider His unspeakable sacrifice.
What did the body of Jesus actually endure in the night and day leading up to Good Friday and those 6 hours of torture on the Cross. A Physician Looks at the Crucifixion by Dr. C Truman Davis is a powerful view of the physical and anatomical aspects of the passion and death of our Lord.
To share it with you, I connected the narrative of this message to some powerful video images from the Passion of the Christ and have it here for you. We need to take the time to remember! He did not forget us. |
 |
|
He is not dead. The tomb is empty!
May you enjoy the reality of his resurrection,
the power of His presence,
and the revelation of His
love.
HE IS RISEN! LIVE FREE IN HIM.
WE ARE BELIEVING GOD WITH YOU FOR YOUR RESURRECTION MIRACLE-
OVER FINANCE, OVER ILLNESS, OVER ADDICTION, OVER DEATH.
GOD BLESS YOU, JESUS PAID DEARLY SO GOD COULD ...(bless you) |

IT IS NOT TOO LATE JOIN US IN MAURITIUS
Join Darmen Elleya, Rhavy Nursimulu, the dedicated team preparing to launch Teen Challenge, Mike Zello and me for MAURITIUS, the LIFE EXPERIENCE seven days of miracles. Even though the CIA fact sheet describes Mauritius as an Island paradise ... paradise is burning as the young generation is drawn into drugs, alcohol, sex and all sorts of bondage. Ranked number 2 in the world in heroin addiction by the United Nations UNDOC and cited with increasing human rights violations for failure to provide treatment for those trapped by addiction, this Hindu nation is looking for answers. TC is offering the proven cure, real answers through Jesus Christ. |
|
You can join us for 7 days of miracles. The island of Mauritius is located 2,000 km off East Africa, southwest of the Indian Ocean. Ten times the size of Washington DC, it is home to 1.2 million people that form a mosaic of race, culture and religion. This French-speaking Hindu Island has a diverse, splintered, and militant religious population, (Hindu 48%, Roman Catholic 23.6%, Muslim 16.6%, other Christian 8.6%).
We need French or Creole speaking volunteers as well as musicians, rappers, prayer warriors and altar workers.

PARTNER
PRAYER
FOCUS
FOR APRIL |
1) Please pray for Cathy as she will be going in for surgery in April 20. She has a 3 inch Cyst on her left ovary and we are praying for the Lord to either remove it or anoint the doctor and believing for a normal biopsy
2) Pray for the ministry in MAURITIUS- in May as we host the crusade and street rallies in the six major drug areas and a climaxing in the nation's capitol. (see detail above). MAURITIUS is a fertile field and I believe God is going to shake that island by HIS power and from there I see the wave rolling like a tsunami of love and grace to Seychelles and then Reunion Island. Hallelujah!
3) Pray for preparations for the August Jimmy Jack Crusade and Rock the Block Evangelistic Services in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Pray for arrangements with Dr. Ron Kenoly to join the missionary team as we partner with Kenya Teen Challenge and the TAG to launch a new TC in Dar Es Salaam. We are close to making an announcement. We need to lock in the contracts IN WRITING for Kamukunji Grounds and Jangwani for the ministry times as well as locating sound systems capable of covering 50 to 75,000 people.
4) Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 86 countries need staff and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in 43 nations. They are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT. We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet the need.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” |
