As we gather
with family and friends this Thanksgiving, may I share friendly reminder?
Teen Challenge Swaziland has spread out across this tiny nation. Under siege of addiction, immorality, and HIV- while the Swazi population has decreased from 1.3 million when TC began, now just over 800,000 people, TC has Centers in Emafini, Ezlwini, Timbutini, Hawane and Bulembu -- they have expanded to meet each challenge .

Their ministry is at the cutting edge. I am amazed by their vision and faithfulness as well as the ability of Exec Director Kevin Ward to raise up an army of prayer warriors and supporters around the world to invest in this miracle. Treatment, prevention outreach, medical care and evangelism are a part of all that they do!
Miracle children
The lives of women, addicts, and AIDS infected or affected children are being transformed by the power of God at TC centers and the evidence of miracles is everywhere that you look.
We had a wonderful time with Tiffany, Mike Zello's granddaughter (right) who volunteers as a teacher for the children at Hawane Farm. The growth at Bulembu is exciting

As the world forges into a financial crisis and people “inventory stock...” when YOU COUNT do not neglect your most valuable things. Our greatest resources are not reflected in a balance sheet or finances, but by taking inventory of our life. Our greatest treasures are not found in a bank account or wallet, but in treasures of the heart. We may not have all that we “want,” but thank God we do not get what we deserve.
Life, family and ministry ... what a precious gifts the Lord has entrusted us ... and I am often reminded that God’s greatest provision is not just seen in what I have received or seen, but often by what God has protected me from.
In Cape Town,  a cobra was found in my room by a Teen Challenge, grad just before I entered. In Swaziland last night they caught a six foot boomslang (deadly hemotoxic snake) on the path that I daily walked to my room. Who knows how many times I had stepped over that snake or even nearly stepped on it in the dark. One bite from either of these deadly snakes would have surely been fatal.
How many times have you thanked God for the things He has protected your from. Things that  you may not have even been aware of? How many "poisonous snakes" in the path of school, family business or LIFE has His grace and blessing protected you from?
Psalm 103: 3-5 Bless the LORD, O my soul, forget none of His benefits;3 Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; 4 Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; 5Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
As we are counting blessings, we dare not forget to count the most important things. That is more than Thanksgiving, that is THANKS LIVING. For each of us that is different because God meets us as individuals. This Thanksgiving may I share a solemn reminder to focus on Him. He has been better than we will ever know.

SIPHO- God has done many wonderful things in the lives of children at Teen Challenge. Every one of the children is a miracle, but we have been blessed to follow the life of Sipho from the days they brought him to "The Ark" Teen Challenge. The front page headline of the Swazi Observer flashed GRABBED. They called him the crocodile skinned boy because of the scales on his skin and body. He was rescued from abuse, living in a pit latrine. Now Sipho is a leader and an example to the others. During this trip, he is confident and well-adjusted. He even helped me with tenor section of the choir. He continues to grow and mature and is a living testimony of God healing and restoring power.

One of the most exciting aspects of the Teen Challenge Ministry in Swaziland is their commitment to outreach, community care and cutting edge evangelism with Book of Hope through their " I Matter" HIV prevention program. Ministering at the Sifunszani school was a great opportunity to share the good news as well as making drug free disease free choices. (click for SWAZI ANNIVERSARY VIDEO)
