This weekend a powerful man of God suddenly passed into eternity. While for those who love Dennis there is pain, we dare not mourn the passing of this great Kingdom Warrior, but let us Celebrate a man given to a life of Kingdom Service.
Rodney Hart said it best when he shared, “Dennis Griffith was more than a messenger for Teen Challenge; he was the message of Teen Challenge." Dennis remained ever faithful to the ministry that saved his life and pointed him to Jesus.” Through his faithfulness he impacted the world. |
|
| From the depths, to the dorms of Teen Challenge, and from doorkeeper to dynamic Global leader, Dennis was never a man to seek title or position. His faithful service to the Kingdom opened doors around the world and even brought him to the halls of power. He was appointed by President Bush to serve as a Commissioner with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Drug Free Communities Program, as advisor on drug related issues. |
|
Truly the life and ministry of Dennis Griffith were powerful testimony of the Power of Jesus Christ His leadership opened the doors for funding opportunities that had been denied to Teen Challenge for decades. He was at the point of the spear in a true David and Goliath story, as he fought for the same rights and privileges afforded other faith-based and secular programs. The Lord showed Himself mighty as Dennis Griffith proved to be faithful to marshall resources and carry the battle. |

From meager duties as a student, to work as a staff to his first directorship at Bakersfield - he exemplified vision and faithfulness.
Dennis Griffith was Executive Director of Teen Challenge International, Southern California and has served the organization for 33 years. Under his leadership the Southern California outreach has grown to include a network of ten centers, providing youth, adults and families with effective, comprehensive drug prevention services, including a residential discipleship program for 500 adults seeking freedom from addiction. |

In March of 2003, Dennis received a special honor, President George W. Bush appointed him to serve as a Commissioner with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Drug Free Communities Program, giving the White House advice on drug related issues. “I deeply appreciate and I am honored by the President’s appointment,”
Griffith said... "A wonderful opportunity for me to serve in a way that is vital to our country’s future and contribute to the nation which gave me a second chance.”

| Dennis also served on the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) Advisory Board and was also an Expert Faith Based Panelist for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT). Both centers are part of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA). |

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Dennis Griffith's will be held on November 2 at 10 AM in Grove Community Church, 19900 Grove Community Drive, Riverside, CA 92508.
The family has requested that no flowers be sent. It would certainly be a suitable tribute to Dennis’ life that, in lieu of flowers, gifts could be sent to Teen Challenge of Southern California. |

| Take a lesson . . . Life is short and none of us is promised tomorrow. Kiss your wife. Hug your kids. Hold onto someone you love. Remind them how much you care TODAY. |
