I will go to Trinidad on March 14. We have been on the phone with Nyron and Vashti and experiencing the anticipation of the birth of their new baby with them. Wednesday morning we even joked about her Braxton Hicks contractions and she was laughing when I suggested what the name of her baby should be. "After alI, " I joked," 'Bernadine' is a great name for a girl." SUDDENLY! Six hours later, the E mail to the right flashed on my computer screen from Nyron, the executive director of Trinidad Teen Challenge. The autopsy has confirmed a Placental Abruption with massive hemorrhage. |

Thousands around the world prayed for Nyron and Baby Vashti. I am so glad Nyron had the chance to spend time with the baby.
He shared, "I saw her, I touched her, I prayed with her. She is so beautiful!"
She fought valiantly but Mondaay morning Baby Vashti flew from the arms of her earthly father, to her Father in heaven. Nyron and Sharona will appreciate your prayers. As frontline Teen Challenge Missionaries living by faith, Vashti and Nyronhad no life insurance for funeral expenses. Please pray about this and if you want to send a gift, it can be send directly to Trinidad Teen Challenge in Nyron's name. |

While it is impossible to understand events like this with our human understanding, now we must remember Baby Vashti's middle name .... FAITH. In times when we cannot understand, we can trust. Trust is the seed that grows into HOPE. ICor 13 says "These 3 things abide, FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE." Life is temporal, but these three are eternal and they never disappoint us. |
