Dear Friends,
As Kathie and I prepare to leave on Monday for SE Asia I want to touch base and ask for your prayers. On this trip we will be visiting Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and attending the Asia/Pacific TC conference in Singapore. Our TC center in Cambodia is in it's 6th month of operation. Our 20 beds are nearly full and we are planning on building an additional 25 bed dorm. The opportunity has opened for me to meet with the AOG General Superintendent in both Thailand and Vietnam to discuss the start up of TC. Just recently I read an article in the Phenom Penh Post interviewing street kids. A 7 year old girl was quoted as saying she uses drugs to mask her hunger pains, and joined the gang because no one else cares for her. You prayers and support of UTR is helping us throughout SE Asia to reach out to kids such as this young girl.
We fly out from Springfield this coming Monday, just before our flight leaves I will be meeting (in the airport) with an AG Missionary from another SE Asia country that wants our assistance in starting a TC.
When I think of these doors God has opened I am simply amazed. Five years ago I would have never dreamed these opportunities would be mine. Having said that, I realize these opportunities would have never come about without the support of many of you.
Thank you to those who support us on a monthly basis and especially to our major donors in support of the ministry of UTR.
On the home front, God is blessing our work at TC of the Four States. In the 5 months we have been here we have completely re decorated the center, and hosted an Open House last night. We started a capital campaign to add a 34x60 ft addition that will include a classroom, student lounge, restrooms and multi/purpose room, also we plan to build a 30x40ft garage. Our budget is $150,000 and God has help us to already receive $100,000 in commitments. We plan to start building by September and November 1 we will expand our program to an Induction Center.
Again THANK YOU for your prayers and support. I will keep you posted throughout our trip.
Blessings,
Jim
