PRAYER REQUESTS

Over 62 years ago, in 1958, God called David Wilkerson to the brutal "Egyptian Kings" murder trial. "Go to New York City and help those boys." That 9 word command left him dumbfounded, but in simple obedience, he went. In February 2020, we returned to Egypt to pray again, rejoicing in the power of the one true King, not motivated by death, but with a message of life.

We were honored to travel to Egypt, as GTC concluded prayer and fasting days, with an exciting prayer gathering. In Cairo, Egypt, the home of 10,000 mosques and emerging TC Centers, we joined Dr Ehab El Kharrat, Dr. Jerry Nance,(through the miracle of technology) 1,000 intercessors and over 2,000 prayer warriors by live stream worldwide to pray for breakthrough victory in the war against drugs.

The Teen Challenge ministry was born in prayer. It survives and thrives through prayer. With over 270 million addicts worldwide and a prophetic mandate to Put Hope Within Reach of every addict, we don't just believe in miracles, we rely on them.

EGYPT PRAYER SUMMIT from Bernie Gillott on Vimeo.

We honor David Wilkerson's commitment to sell his TV to pray. 19 days of prayer led to the birth of Teen Challenge. Thanks to all who declared a fast and those who gave up anything from a meal to a favorite food, to social media to pray for our mission to reach the lost and bring the claims of the gospel to bear on the drug crisis.

We condensed 2 hours of intense worship, ministry and prayer into a power packed 30 minute video. Join Cathy & I with Dr. Ehab El Kharrat & Dr Nance in Cairo. Even if you missed the meeting, you can still join over 1,000 Egyptian intercessors, the Kasr El-Dobara Worship Team, and TC Centers around the world. Over 2,000 joined by Live Stream in February and now you join in too. Active table of contents below is on VIMEO

FREEDOM MINISTRIES

Freedom Ministries
, launched in 1989 currently has 34 centers with 1,050 beds providing residential services throughout Egypt. In addition to their outreach center for HIV prevention among people who inject drugs, a training center currently offers 7 different courses for Addictive Behavior Management. Over 21,000 addicts have been served in their residential services over the last 30 years and another 20,000 received nonresidential services.

As we met with the directors, we reaffirmed the historic TC model that does not treat addiction as the problem, but as a symptom. The problem is a broken relationship with God and the root is sin. There is a distinction between rehabilitation and transformation. If we spend all of our time focused on recovery rather than resurrection, it leaves them vulnerable to fear of relapse. All the directors were given copies of The Cross and the Switchblade, Arabic version.

It was wonderful to fellowship, pray, spend time in the Word, and explore the road-map moving forward in partnership with Freedom Ministries and Teen Challenge Africa as we prepare for the upcoming ALL AFRICA gathering in Cape Town with GTC Africa Regional Director Dr. Jacobus Nomdoe.

This week, we leave for Beirut Lebanon, working with Garo Margossian, Executive Director of TC Lebanon. He has organized ministry in Beirut, staff training and outreach to the Syrian Refugee camps in the Bekaa Valley. We will be traveling to Yerevan, Armenia to minister with Gagik & Lusine Mkrtchyan, directors of TC Armenia. I will also travel with him to minister in Amman, Jordan.
Thank you for praying and for your support.

Give securely ONLINE now
2019 was a year of miracles. As you prayerfully consider your giving here in 2020, consider standing with us. We receive no salary or travel support from GTC.
You are our lifeline as we look at some daunting financial; challenge ahead, not only for this Middle East Mission, but to sponsor TC Leaders for SOS in Kenya in June.

“ARREST THE STORM”

After our Middle East mission, we fly from Beirut to West Africa, to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. We will join Dr. Vitalis and Sister Angela Ekezie for the dedication of their new women's home and outreach. Cathy will minister at a women's conference hosted by Sister Angela Ekezie with Erica Nomdoe, TC Africa women's representative(and wife of the Africa Regional director Dr. Jacobus Nomdoe.)
God is doing amazing work among women in Teen Challenge here in Africa. Sister Angela Ekezie, Erica Nomdoe, Mom Cathy Gillott and an international team of teachers invite you to join them for 3 power-packed days of prayer, worship, and ministry. Contact Sister Angela above for reservations and details.

Exceedingly-Abundantly

ALTAR MINISTRY

As we ministered at the altar to those confessing faith in Jesus, we noticed that their prayer needs were for growth in their relationship with Jesus. Their focus was an overwhelming fear of relapse. It is an interesting symptom we see as we are ministering in a shame-based culture. Dr Ehab El Kharrat, Rev Maher and the team face a daunting challenge to minister grace, freedom and deliverance. We were honored to stand with them for these emerging TC centers.

CROSS & the SWITCHBLADE

Arabic language copies of the Cross and the Switchblade were given to staff and leaders of the various center. Garo Margossian has led the printing of tens of thousands of copies that are having a tremendous impact in the M-sl*m world and refugee camps in Europe.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than we ask or imagine, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations .... forever and ever.
AMEN.
Ephesians 3:20-21

Even when if can’t see God working, it does not mean He is not at work.

Even when you feel like God doesn’t know what you’re going through, He knows. He cares and He weeps for you. HE DIED FOR YOU.

Even when you fear that circumstances will triumph and that the hope that God will come through feels like empty words, God’s promise is real.

God does his most amazing work invisible to the naked eye, revealed only to eyes of faith. Perhaps the greatest miracles of all, come when we have given up all hope and least expect them. That is when the sound of His promise breaks through even the greatest silence. Miracles can happen in the moment when I come in despair, seeing that nothing but God can save me.

God is doing more than you can see and God knows more than He is
telling you

It is when I realize that the solution is not my works, my human effort, my positive mental attitude, or even “MY faith." It is when I realize that faith is a gift of God and go from working and striving to TRUSTING Him. God is doing more than you can see and God knows more than He is telling you.

We don’t lack miracles in our lives! We lack the vision and eternal perspective that allow us to see, experience and appreciate miracles. Even though God is outside of space time and rational thinking, He is still the I AM. Since HE IS, all I need is in HIM.

He is Emmanuel… “God with us.” He is the way. Nothing about God makes sense when we try to understand it with our own limited understanding,. But when I stop trying to figure it out and start trusting, He shows up in ways that exceed even our wildest imagination.

What Ephesians is saying is,
“If you can imagine it. It’s too small.
If you can conceive it, you set your goal too low.
If you have the courage to let down your 'God guard', the God of miracles wants to come and surprise you."

And most importantly, the apostle Paul reminds us that the power is working in us. Bubbling, it is trying to stir up our redeemed imagination to hope in God again-even though people have disappointed you. It is OK to believe again.

WADI FACILITIES & MINISTRIES

Saturday, after a 3 hour drive, we arrived at the Freedom Outreach Rehabilitation Center and Farm in Wady El Natroun.  This beautiful property, 100 miles kilometers north of Cairo is nestled on 72 acres of reclaimed desert supported by two deep wells. The students currently care for 6500 olive trees, 100 palm trees, lemon, pomegranate, and date palms. They farm 15 acres of seasonal crops. The farm produces finances to help cover the unpaid expenses for drug rehabilitation and will be a strategic asset for the team in supporting people coming into the Teen Challenge program.

With 271 beds, Freedom Ministry Wady complex is the largest single-premises facility in the Arab world. There are buildings/wings for the 12-step programs, Muslim and Christian programs and a new section that will house the Teen Challenge program. After confessing faith in Jesus, these men wanted to take a picture with Cathy and I. Pray for these men for powerful breakthrough.

In 6 October City, we visited the new TC Women's Home. They are renting a 3-floor facility that can house 12 ladies. We had a wonderful time of ministry with the ladies and staff. We also ministered at the men's facility in 6 October City. It houses 3 programs, accommodating 30 on each floor in dorms with bunk beds housing 8 to 10 men per room.

A 12-step program on the first floor had 24 men, their Christian program the second floor is full. The third floor is Teen Challenge. When the word got out that we were ministering in "chapel", men from the Christian and twelve-step program all gathered in and we had an amazing time of ministry as over 50 confessed faith in Jesus Christ. We spent another 30 minutes after the service praying for needs.
Meeting with the AG Executive Presbytery

A key meeting took place with the AG Executive Committee at Assembly of God headquarters. The meeting was facilitated by Dr Ehab and Pastor Adel, the AG Vice President. It was an incredibly productive meeting as they cast vision for a Teen Challenge/Freedom Ministries/Assembly of God partnership to launch TC programs in Cairo and across Egypt. General Superintendent Nasser Katkout was in California and joined us by Facetime.
We are praying that God will do a powerful work with this new partnership.

PRAYER

FOCUS

Again I say
unto you,
That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done
for them of
my Father which is in heaven.

1) Novel Coronavirus

Please pray for those at risk, infected and affected by the novel coronavirus. (COVID-19), As of February 29, there are over 85,000 confirmed cases and over 2900 deaths globally, the vast majority of which are in mainland China. Some countries have seen a surge in cases; South Korea with over 3100, and Japan over 200. Pray for Africa-their population would be tremendously vulnerable to fatalities if COVID-19 spreads there to that continent. Please pray for leaders as they adopt emergency measures, travel restrictions, and quarantines to stem the spread of the virus.
World Health Organization Novel Coronavirus DASHBOARD

Please pray for our friends, partners and sacrificial ministry assets, who are sharing the word at the epicenter of this pandemic. Pray for supernatural power, protection, and miracles to follow wherever they go. Please also pray for God’s wisdom for the scientists who are working to develop a cure and vaccine.

2) TC Lebanon

We are excited to join Garo in Lebanon in this week. Please pray for finances for them to complete the building of the Teen Challenge men’s center in Lebanon. Thankful to Jehovah Jireh-Our wonderful Provider.

3) Ministry in Jordan & Armenia

We will be meeting with new leaders and doing awareness in Jordan along with Garo Margossian. We are excited to be traveling to Yerevan, Armenia to minister with Gagik & Lusine Mkrtchyan, directors of TC Armenia. We will visit their centers, minister at church and companion programs at Word of Life.

4) In obedience to God’s Word . . .

“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
1 Timothy 2:1-4 NASB

5) JUST PRAY NO April 18-19.

The weekend of April 18-19, 2020 has been designated as the 30th Annual “Just Pray NO!” to drugs Worldwide Weekend of Prayer and Fasting for the addicted and their families.

Since April 7th, 1991, “Just Pray NO!” has united Christians around the world in intercessory prayer on behalf of those bound by alcoholism, drug addiction and other life controlling compulsions Join us in prayer.

6) VISION & WISDOM

Please pray for wisdom for our travel schedule through 2020.  Thanking God that He will lead, guide and order our steps to the places He wants us to be.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we can ask or think according to the power that works within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Jesus Christ to all generations forever and ever. AMEN
Ephesians 3:20-21

6) FINANCIAL NEEDS & MISSION SOS

We appreciate those who pray for us. As you can see from the above schedule, we face a challenge just for airline tickets here in the first four months of 2020. But the opportunities were so significant and ministry needs were so compelling that we really felt led to step out in faith. Please pray that the Lord will speak to the hearts of people who will help to sponsor these flights. We are also believing God for partners to sponsor African leaders to join us at Mission SOS. We need to raise about $10,000 for the African team to join us in Kenya. Please pray about sponsoring an African leader.
