Morogoro, population of 315,866 is in east Tanzania, 196 kilometers (122 mi) west of Dar es Salaam, the country's largest city and commercial center, and 160 mi) east of Dodoma, the capital city. It is diverse religiously with a large Muslim, Hindu and animist population - the King of Kings Reigns.

What an impact this team had on this strategic city. Over 220 International evangelists, our African TC Team and SWAT teams with 500 Tanzania Volunteers who had been preparing for the mission under SOS training for months. God moved powerfully.

The team ministered to over 80,000 on the festival grounds, 11,000 with SOS Kids and thousands on the street. Thousands confessed faith in Jesus Christ and we saw miracles. Now we reload and head for Arusha next week. (we are grateful for the hard work of Steve Knight, Jeswaine Williams, Samantha Amritzer and the SOS media team for providing great photos.
MISSION SOS AFRICA CAPITAL CITIES TOUR
Join us for a 3 minute look at SOS Morogoro. Come behind the scenes and at the front lines to see what God did through Johannes Amritzer, SOS, and their partnership with GTC Africa. We DO NOT take the victory for granted. Thank you for joining in SPIRITUAL WARFARE! Please continue to intercede and battle for souls, for fruit that remains.
This 3 minute video will update you. PLEASE pray as we repack and head to Arusha, Tanzania next week. SOS UPDATE on Vimeo
The GTC team of 16 men came from across Africa and the USA. From South Africa to Uganda to Kenya we are seeing powerful voice of freedom rising from Teen Challenge leadership as Dr Nomdoe leads GTC Africa. They will carry this ministry paradigm back to their nations. Please pray for the move of God in Africa! Its been 10 years since Cathy and I have been able to celebrate her birthday at home. 2019 found us on mission again. This time in Morogoro, Tanzania. Though she would have loved to be with her grandchildren, we celebrated with 16 TC leaders, Johannes Amritzer, friends from Sweden and 200 MISSION SOS friends.

E-VOTION
FOCUS  IS
ANOINTING
SOS KIDS

A powerhouse in the SOS Adventure arsenal of ministry tools is SOS KIDS.  As Johannes ministered on the first night, nearly 60 people were carried into the “deliverance tent,” under the influence of demonic spirits. God moved powerfully and there were many wonderful stories of freedom. But we believe there is something better!

The vision SOS Kids is to raise up young people so filled with the power of God and  the anointing of the Holy Spirit that they will not NEED deliverance from demonic influence. They are raising young religion, witch doctors, people who will not be seduced by peer pressure and the influence of “gong, ganga,” and the drugs of the day. It is a great testimony to be set free from drugs but greater testimony never to fall victim.

RESULTS

TOTAL KIDS-- 1,369
Commitments-- 5,055
Holy Spirit- 0300
Healing-- 0028
Please pray with us for the lasting results. God moved powerfully among the children, M^sl^m, Hindu, animist, or atheist. As the power of God fell, they came to Jesus. Blind eyes were healed, 3 deaf children received hearing. Imagine when they went home from school --"HEY MOM!!"

"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4  "I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. John 17:3-4 (NASB)

A principle we practice with Johannes Amritzer & MISSION SOS is a foundational teaching-FOCUS is anointing. They have learned that organizing international evangelism teams takes planning, purpose and focus. The enemy of supernatural ministry is distraction. But here is the key. If focus is anointing, our focus had better be in the right place. The point is this, destination is not the same as focus.

The apostle Paul said:
This one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on Phil 3:13-14

Interruptions are not always a distraction to ministry. Often they are the ministry.

This one thing I do. That is focus. He sought the plan. Sometimes, it is possible to get so focused on a destination, that we miss the most important thing. Consider this, most of Jesus miracles happened on the way to doing something else.  Interruptions are not always a distraction to ministry.
Often that is where real ministry takes place.

And there came a man named Jairus, and he was an official of the synagogue; and he fell at Jesus' feet, and began to implore Him to come to his house; Luke 8:41 (NASB)

Jesus is on his way to heal an important leader’s daughter. It was a significant opportunity. I am sure Judas is clearing the way, with his smartphone out. This is an Instagram, Snapchat, Messenger blast, Facebook post moment. He turns to Peter and says, “This could change the course of Jesus' ministry and public profile! Imagine the 'likes!' Hey, maybe go Face time live! “

Then the “ministry” opportunity is interrupted by “a woman” with an issue of blood. Too gross to post!  She didn’t even belong in public!  What do you mean “'Someone touched You?' You are in a crowd; everyone is touching you." AND JESUS STOPPED!

“Hey, Jesus, people were thronging you!” Yes, but only one touched Him. In the middle of a thronging crowd, Jesus felt one touch!  Focus is Anointing. Jesus stopped!

What if Jairus' daughter dies? We are supposed to hurry!  Come on Jesus, hurry up! Oh no!!!! Now he is talking TO her.
 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace." Luke 8:48

Religion rejected her; the community marginalized her. But Jesus validated her—no longer just “a woman.” Jesus calls her “Daughter.” Jesus gave value to every broken person that he touched. Do I?

One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing. - Luke 5:17

To some, 4 sweaty, muddy, dirty Hebrews blasting a hole in the roof and lowering a paralyzed man in front of Jesus might seem like a distraction from a strategic moment.  All the big names were there to hear about what healing was. But Jesus was about to show them what healing IS.

I recall a time in South Philly, hurrying to get David Wilkerson from his bus to the platform to preach. We pushed through the crowd down Broad Street. Every few feet someone wanted him to pray for their son, tell him a sad story, or share some pressing need. As we tried to force our way through the crowd Brother Dave kept stopping.

Finally, in desperation I said, ‘Brother Dave, please, we've got to get you to the platform to minister! With those piercing eyes of his, I felt like he looked right into my heart as he said,
“Bernie, the platform is where I preach, ministry is what happens on the way to the platform.”

The Father has sent us to seek and save the lost. How many times have I been trapped by the tyranny of the urgent, running for the gate at the airport, rushing to complete a project, hurrying to the pulpit? Am I so preoccupied with a task, that somehow I step over a person (a miracle) that God wants me to SEE? Am I so fixated on running to the destination, that I am not conscious of who I am running over on the way to the destination?

Father, give me eyes to FEEL what you feel, FOCUS on what You see,  because FOCUS is ANOINTING!

MISSION TEAM SPOTLIGHT--GEORGE

I know I shared George's testimony last E-ntercession, but I could not resist updating his work with MISSION SOS. He joined an outreach team, ministered and shared his testimony.
We are so proud of him and his heart for the Lord..

From changaa, a deadly, home-brewed hallucinogenic drink made of corn liquor and formaldehyde, to bangi (marijuana), he eventually was lost in addiction to heroin.

It has been a joy to watch him grow in the Lord. He served the TC International Team starting with Chris as cultural liaison to the SOS AID team then an outreach team.

M^sl^m SOBER HOUSE

The Sober House is called Free At Last, a M^sl^m program employing the
12-Step model.

They gave us unprecedented freedom to share as we built the relationship over the week leading up to our outreach.
While i ministered, I asked the director if I could invite men to ask Jesus in their lives. He said, "Most definitely-please," and gave us permission to distribute our "follow-up" salvation books. At the end he allowed the residents to fill out the decision card and give it to TC Director Elesante for follow up by Teen Challenge.

Again I say
unto you,
That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done
for them of
my Father which is in heaven.

1) MISSION SOS SOBER HOUSE ARUSHA Project

Please join with us as we pray for a unique ministry opportunity that has opened up. In partnership with Mission SOS AID, we will be targeting 3 more "M^sl~m - sober houses" representing almost 100 students. As we visit to meet practical needs, we have arranged with leadership to provide a Bible for each of the students. We will do an "outreach meeting" and TC folks will share testimony along with SOS AID outreach workers.

We are very excited about this opportunity because one of the directors confided to me that so many of the men leaving the sober houses are going back to drugs. I suggested perhaps those that want the help that TC offers could come to one of our emerging programs for additional help. He was delighted with the possibility.

2) GTC Global Executive Council

Please pray with us as Global Teen Challenge convenes their Annual Executive Council at Global Headquarters in Columbus Georgia. Key leaders for every Teen Challenge Region around the world as they meet to pray, cast vision and advance the vision of Putting Hope within reach of every person!

3) SENSITIVE NATION

We thank God for amazing TC leaders serving in sensitive nations As we ask for your prayers, we are rejoice at the miracles that happen to protect courageous leaders as they carry the Good News. Thank God for His protection as this explosion took place near one of our centers. God protected the students and TC team.

We appreciate your prayers as we are finalizing our schedule for Nigeria in November. We are poised for miracles.
Stand with us.

4) TAG 80th Anniversary Celebration

We thank God for Bishop Barnabas Mtokambali. He has been a champion of the Ministry of Teen Challenge in Tanzania and across the continent. As he hosts the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the Tanzania Assemblies of God, we are honored that Jeff Garrett and the TAG have invited us to join them for this celebration. We will also host some special breakout sessions to train TC leaders.

5) MISSIONS SOS FESTIVAL

As we prepare to fly back to Tanzania, please FOCUS your prayers with us for the MISSION SOS. We are praying for specific breakthroughs against the powers of darkness trying to hinder what God has called us to accomplish in Arusha, Tanzania.

Agree with us on these points, and please reply with anything the Lord speaks to your heart as we prepare to engage dark spiritual forces on the battlefield.

  • Pray for the sound system operation and final setup-especially for the children's festival stage. As many know- the entire festival stage, sound and lights went up in flames as a tanker truck, out of control, smashed into our rig while they were doing customs at the border.
  • Pray for Peter and his team who have the challenging job of configuring the new sound stage and lighting here in Tanzania.
  • Pray for the street outreaches across Arusha all week long-14-21 July.
  • Pray for Evangelist Johannes Amritzer and all of the US, European and TC Africa missionaries and the Tanzanians who are part of this outreach.

TEAM PRAYER PRIORITIES/FESTIVAL PRAYER PRIORITIES

A spirit of unity within our diverse team of over missionaries from Europe, Africa and the US. Psalm 133:1 & Colosians 3:14-15.

Pray for safe travel as our Africa leaders and students are headed for Arusha, Tanzania by bus and plane.

For Tanzanian pastors & churches who partner with SOS for the Arusha Festival. Ecclesiastes 4:9

An attitude of excellence in our ministry preparation. Daniel 6:3 & 2 Corinthians 8:7

For God to prepare & purify the stadium.
It is a place known for drinking, parties & drug use.
Deuteronomy 11:24a

Financial breakthrough & 100% funding for each of our team members. Psalm 144:13

This is the time to exercise our spiritual authority, engage in the spiritual warfare that is waging around the plans for this festival. We must pray for a Shock and Awe outpouring on the powers of darkness as we head to Arusha.

WE ARE REMINDING THE FORCES OF DARKNESS THAT:

  • He that is in us, is greater than he that is in the world.

    1 John 4:4
    • The Lord will cause the enemy, who has raised up against this festival in Arusha, to be defeated before us. If he comes in against us one direction, he will flee before us in seven directions, in the name of Jesus! Deuteronomy 28:7

    • What the enemy has meant for evil, Lord, you will turn around for good in Arusha; for the saving of many lives, as they receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Genesis 50: 20

    • That by our hand, Lord, the unreached people will be delivered out of the hand of the enemy and wicked, unreasonable men.

    2 Thessalonian 3:2
    Please pray for the Arusha Festival Committees.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pray with us for the global advance of the gospel.
Pray for workers for the Harvest ...
We have Teen Challenge Centers in 125 countries and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in many new nations. They are crying out for help and need staff.
They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT.
We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet PRACTICAL needs.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send
out workers into His harvest.”
