Eurasia Regional Conference-Antalya, Turkey

I pray God is blessing your Christmas season. Please take a moment to view powerful 3 minute video we made.

In the gift of the incarnation, Jesus left the timelessness of eternity and divinity to wrap himself with humanity. In my finite human understanding, I can't even begin to comprehend the power of this sacrifice.

It was such a blessing to be a part of the Global Teen Challenge Eurasia Conference. What an amazing group of leaders gathered for the Teen Challenge Eurasia Conference in Antalya, Turkey-from India to Lebanon, Mongolia and Northern Siberia (names not listed for security reasons & several of the faces needed to be blocked out for the safety of their teams in sensitive nations). It was an awesome time!
Eurasia occupies only 30% of the earth's landmass, 4.6 billion people, but almost 70% of the Earth's population live there. This provides a unique opportunity to share Hope with broken people at the strategic geo-political intersection of religion, philosophy, and human need. GTC is training key leaders who minister to addicts and victims of human trafficking in sensitive or closed nations. They are at the front lines of the TC vision to PUT HOPE WITHIN REACH. These courageous leaders help to make that a Hope a reality 365 days a year in a region where so many are crying out for hope and a miracle.
EURASIA TC PIONEERS-Pray for protection
There are many other pictures of TC Pioneers who are launching cutting edge outreach to meet the lost in nations closed to traditional measures that we would love to share. From Ir-n to Afgh-n-st-n,and other sensitive nations, courageous visionary leaders are identifying culturally relevant TC models to impact the needs of addicts, prostitutes, victims of human trafficking and sexual slavery in nations across Eurasia.

What if there was no Christmas?

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”  Matthew 1:23

Jesus came to make a way from earth to heaven and He brought heaven to the earth. Through Him, we come to God and through Him, God comes to us. In His humanity Jesus descends to the lowest depths of human need and sorrow. Had He been God only and not man, He could not have done this.

The incarnation was the lowering of the ladder until it rested in the deepest valleys. There is now no shame or guilt in this world from which there is not a ladder of light leading upward to God and heaven. Christ's humanity reaches down to earth's places of deepest need, as His divinity transports us past the shining stars into the glory of God. He who had no beginning and had no end took on a beginning knowing His end.

God forgive us when we forget. Christmas--it’s all about CHRIST

What if there was no Christmas?
People answer this question differently.

  • Some would regret the loss of finances to the local economy and merchants.
  • Some would miss the holiday music.
  • Though atheists despise the nativity scenes, they would miss having the days off of work.
  • Some would be sad that the children would lose the magic.
  • Some would miss the emotion, the goodwill and sentiment of the season.
  • One pastor’s biggest concern when asked was the impact on offerings.

All of these answers miss the most important issue.

As we spend our time frantically looking for the perfect gift, so few stop long enough to seek the face of Father and find out that the perfect gift has already been given. If there was no Christmas, we would miss the greatest gift in eternity.
God cared enough to give the very best gift. But in our earthly foolishness we are so distracted with the magic of the season, holiday revelry and gift giving that we miss the true gift.

God gave what I could have never asked for. I wanted healing, I wanted freedom from addiction and hope, but I could have never imagined the cost. I could not imagine a world where I would demand that God sent his only son to be rejected as the illegitimate son of a homeless peasant family and eventually suffer the consequences of an illegal trial and vigilante justice that would hang an innocent man on a cruell instrument of torture to die. Yet this is the Christ of Christmas.

Is Jesus Christ the Center of our CHRISTmas?

Now in the USA if you tried to take Santa out of Christmas there would be outrage. To meddle with the myth of a sleigh with eight tiny reindeer, Rudolf or Frosty the Snowman would be mocked as unkind and unfeeling. We would be reproved for the cruelty of stealing the fantasy and robbing children of their dreams.

Still, the de-CHRISTification of Christmas, continues unnoticed and unabated by the multitides as the reality of the season is replaced by commercialism and sentiment. The center of the season is not emotion, it is Emmanuel, God with us.

GTC Eurasia Directors

CONFIDENTIAL has joined the Global TC Team as the Eurasia Director. We truly appreciate the sacrifices made by powerful international leaders who serve as regional leaders to help to impart vision and coordinate strategic assets in regions around the world. By accepting this responsibility, Ilya and Janet have added tremendous responsibilities to their already busy schedule and we are so grateful for their vision and leadership. As others were enjoying the atmosphere and meals in Turkey, Ilya and brother Kevin spent every meal encouraging, sharing, and imparting vision to leaders from across the Eurasia region

It was exciting to join the Russian leaders to the left and see what God is doing in Teen Challenge in Russia. Cathy and I have been working with Ilya for many years. CONFIDENTIAL   was born and raised in Novokuznetsk, a city in the heart of Siberia, Russia. Raised by godly parents they ministered the Good News until perse-cution forced them out of Russia. God's hand was on Ilya through a series of refugee camps that culminated with his arrival in Canada. He met Janet and they were married by David Wilkerson at Times Square church in New York City and God answered his prayer to return to his hometown to share the Good News of the gospel.

Enduring incredible political opposition, God hasused them to raise up a large church and TC Outreaches for men and women called "Source of Life." They have 3 men's centers, and a home for women. They minister to over 100 students on a yearly basis. In 2012, Ilya was chosen to be the Director for Teen Challenge Russia Now we are delighted that he has taken on the role of Global Teen Challenge Eurasia director.

As powerful as Ilya and Janet's testimony, that is only a small picture of what is happening across Russia and in Eurasia where visionary leaders are raising up powerful outreach to the least, the lost, and the most marginalized of society, bringing hope within reach.

INDIA
There are so many nations that need to be remembered, but one nation that I dare not forget. With a population of over 1 billion, 300 million, India has established Teen Challenge centers and has tremendous opportunities before them. More than that, I am truly excited to see a new generation of powerful young, visionary leaders taking the message of the gospel to the nation of India. Facing increasing political and religious pressure, they are boldly carrying the full Gospel of Jesus Christ and crafting outreach strategies to impact a whole new generation of young people, Pray for them as they continue to raise up young leaders to come alongside the ministries established in India.

Remembering my mother

As with many of you, the joy of this season is punctuated by the pain of those who will not celebrate with us this year. It is funny, my first phone call when we returned from a mission trip and landed in the US was always to my mom. I could always hear the relief in her voice as she shared, "I'm so glad you're finally home safe."

Thank you so much to all of you who have shared your concerns and prayers over the last weeks remembering December 2014 when my mother slipped into eternity after intense battles with illness. She did not want to die in a hospital, she returned home and God answered her final prayer as she passedinto glory in her own bed by her picture of pop with my sister by her side -- and unfortunately me out on ministry, as usual. I got there 40 minutes late.

I still miss her so much. I thank God for her example of compassion and faith. Even during the worst parts of her final illness, she never wasted time asking “Why God?” but remained a source of encouragement to all around her. Mom felt deeply, loved lavishly and passed peacefully, leaving for us a legacy and giving an example to live our lives for others.

FOCUS

for

DECEMBER

"MATT 18: 18-19
Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. 19"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven

Let us agree together!

1) SAN BERNARDINO
Please continue to pray for the victims of terrorism, not only those who emerged from the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California, as two terrorists barged into a holiday party and opened fire, killing at least 14 people and injuring 17 others. One cell phone says it - "Shooting at my work. People shot! "Pray for us. I am locked in an office."

As world attention has focused suddenly on Paris and San Bernardino, no one was even watching as 3,500 believing Christians were martyred for their faith in 2014.

2) EVEN IN THE FACE OF THIS TRAGEDY, STOP AND THANK GOD FOR HOPE AND HIS UNSPEAKABLE GIFT- THE GIFT OF HIS SON --THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. ONLY HIS LIGHT CAN OVERCOME THE DARKNESS AS WE REAP THE TRAGIC HARVEST OF A NATION GONE ASTRAY.

3) Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit during this Christmas Season and that people will experience the truth of Jesus and his love which has invaded our realm. As the culture tries to high jack this celebration of God's incredible gift, may Jesus' GIFT be at the center of our Celebration.

4) NORTH KOREA: Please pray for Hyeon Soo Lim, from the Light Korean Presbyterian Church in Toronto, Who has been sentenced to life at hard labor by the North Korea High Court.

He had been in detention since February. Lim, who is in his early 60s, has made more than 100 trips to North Korea since 1997, and his trips were about helping people, not political. He traveled to North Korea on 31 January as part of a regular humanitarian mission where he supports a nursing home, a nursery and an orphanage.

5) Let's pray for our city and country.
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord..." Psalm 33:12 Pray for wisdom for our congressmen and representatives. That God would speak to our leaders' hearts. Protect us from ourselves.

6) SIBERIA TEEN CHALLENGE -

Continue to pray for them as they battle opposition and unfounded court challenges as radical prosecutors and government leaders continue to target their ministry. All of these are nothing short of a calculated satanic attack to wear down the work of the gospel in Russia and distract attempt to distract Ilya from the many responsibilities he carries for the Eurasia region.

7) Please pray for the global advance of the gospel. Pray for workers for the Harvest ...Teen Challenge Centers in 86 countries need staff and we currently have invitations to start Teen Challenge in 43 nations. They are crying out for help. They need the power of God to meet a pressing social need... but we know it has a SPIRITUAL ROOT.
We offer SPIRITUAL RESOURCES to meet the need.
MATTHEW 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." ~(RETURN TO CONTENTS)~
