Rev. Wayne Gray

Executive Director
Oklahoma Teen Challenge

Wayne Gray is the Executive Director of Teen Challenge of Oklahoma overseeing numerous adult and juvenile centers across the state.  He has been a Teen Challenge director since the early 1990’s, and is a graduate of the program. Wayne joined the team at Oklahoma Teen Challenge in 2008. Prior to this he was Executive Director Teen Challenge of the Men's Facility in Central Florida for 15 years. Wayne's connection to Teen Challenge goes back to his college days as a student at State Technical Institute in Memphis, Tennessee. One night some local Teen Challenge staff members handed him a Bible tract and discussed, for over an hour, his need to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Before they left they told him of a good church in the area that he might think about attending. It took Wayne six months to get up the courage to go, but once there he wasted no time in giving the control of his life over to Jesus.

Wayne Gray has worked and directed Teen Challenge Centers for many years. He served Teen Challenge locations in North Little Rock-AR, Hot Springs-AR, Memphis-Tennessee, and Sanford Florida.  His teams have served Teen Challenge globally for decades and his teams have been actively involved with Willie Ruminera to pioneer Teen Challenge in Rwanda

Wayne is a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas and is an ordained minister. He has served as a Senior Pastor as well as various staff positions in Teen Challenge. Currently Wayne is on the Teen Challenge USA Board and is a Regional Representative for Teen Challenges in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and New Mexico. Wayne has been married to Mischa since 1990 and they have 2 sons, Austin and Evan.

OKLAHOMA TEEN CHALLENGE INVADES RWANDA
A team headed by Wayne Gray and Shanon Blankenship with 6 TCOK staff and 14 juvenile students is ministering Kigali, Rwanda They have been on the radio daily reaching over a million people! Each broadcast includes a TC testimony and a director preaching the Gospel.
Pastor Willie Ruminera pioneers Teen Challenge in Rwanda
God has used Oklahoma City to put hope within the reach of 1 million people in one week. In Rwanda, African culture is followed closely. Nearly 80% still wear traditional garments. One of the influences of that traditional culture is that drug addiction is shameful, and shames not only the addict, but the family as well. To hear these U.S. TC students being so candid about their addictions and the deliverance of Jesus Christ has been audacious and confrontational in the Rwanda culture, but in a redemptive way.  The team was flooded with more requests to speak that they can’t begin to fulfill. The Rwanda Minister of Youth wants to partner with Rwanda Teen Challenge to help deal with their drug problem on a national level. God has used Brother Gray, Shannon, and their team to do something very catalytic with the Gospel in that culture this week..
