A FRESH CALL TO PRAYER

God has spoken to Dr. Jerry Nance and he is inviting us to a fresh call to prayer. Will you join your heart with us in a season of spiritual refreshing and prayer. (Summit February 9- 11).
|
It all began Feb. 9, 1958, when God placed a burden on the heart of David Wilkerson to focus on prayer and spend less time watching TV. He put an advertisement in the newspaper to sell his TV and told the Lord, that if it sells in the first 30 minutes after the newspapers hit homes, that he would know that it was God truly speaking to him to sell it. Before 30 minutes had passed, David Wilkerson received a call and sold his TV. This was the beginning of 19 days of prayer that led to the birth of Teen Challenge. |

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
(Eph 3:20, 21)
As we launch into this exciting new year, the question I hear everywhere I travel is what does 2012 hold for us? Before we get too focused on what the year holds, we need to remind of ourselves of Who holds the year.

Our assurance, our certainty, our hope is not based on circumstance but on the person and presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have Ephesians 3:20 & 21 as a promise for this year. I do not know if the Mayans are right, and the world will come to an end this year, Jesus promised that no one would know the hour or day, but He did challenge our hearts to be ready for the master. I hear the voices of doom, talk of expanding Muslim extremism and the dangers that it poses. Disease, earthquake, famine, and war fill the projections and fears of 2012. I would like to testify that without regard to the Mayans, Muslims, micro organisms, or massive political upheaval, my hope is God, my confidence is in the Lord.
I do believe that the United States faces one of the most significant Congressional and Presidential elections of my lifetime and it is certainly a part of my prayers, but it is not the focus of my life. The real key to our future is not in politics, but prayer. An inordinate preoccupation with polls and politics leads to fear. Prayer lays the foundation for faith, and that is the seed that results in real change.
Europe and the World face challenges as economies and financial institutions fail. As we see the fall of cruel and vicious dictators, we wonder if the governments that follow will be any less cruel or vicious. All around us we see the groundwork being laid for a one world currency and the emergence of Antichrist.
We are prepared for 2012. Twelve is the number of Tribes of Israel and the number of the disciples. It is a number that speaks of God's glory going forth in the earth to perform His covenant, through flawed people in spite of hopeless circumstances.We cannot hold back.
We must ramp up our efforts in evangelism to reach the lost while there is still time.
There are many who say, "Who will show us any good?"
LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Psalms 4:6-8
